A NUMBER. A STARTING POINT.

Take a typing test.
Find your rhythm.

Measure correct words per minute, characters per minute and accuracy. Then turn your result into a friendly challenge on the same passage and timer.

YOUR NEXT TEST

15, 30 or 60 seconds.
Keep the conditions fair.

Open the Typing Test, choose a duration and copy the passage. The result shows WPM, CPM and accuracy. Try 60 seconds when you want a repeatable baseline; a short test is a different task from a longer one.

Compare sessions on a similar keyboard with the same timer. Notice whether a higher speed also kept your accuracy steady. One unusually good or bad run is less useful than a pattern over several sessions.

The website offers three free Typing Test plays. A competition attempt has its own one-attempt guest allowance. Open the test when you are ready to use a play.

UNDERSTAND YOUR SCORE

A simple WPM calculator.

Enter correct characters and elapsed seconds to see the five-character-word calculation. This calculator is an estimate, not a verified test or leaderboard submission.

250 correct characters in 60 seconds = 50 WPM.

The formula: correct characters ÷ 5 ÷ elapsed minutes. Online Keymere tests use the selected test duration. Different tools may handle errors and corrections differently, so scores are not always directly interchangeable.

BRING A FRIEND

Same words.
Same time. Your turns.

  1. Finish an online Typing Test and use the result’s share/compete action.
  2. Create a challenge and copy its link.
  3. Your friend opens the link and chooses Take the challenge.
  4. Compare results on the shared leaderboard, then share it onward.

Challenges are asynchronous, so you do not need to be online together. Results rank by correct WPM, accuracy and CPM; exact ties share a rank. Each person gets one result on a challenge, and links expire after 30 days.

Guests get a generated name and avatar. A linked lifetime account supports a chosen profile and more competitions. Use a nickname you are comfortable showing on a shared leaderboard.

PRACTICE OVER TIME

Look beyond a single high score.

Paid online profiles include a 30-day typing graph, lifetime average and best WPM, recent results and a daily 60-second challenge. Optional email reminders can be turned off or unsubscribed from.

Spend a few minutes on a repeated typo, then test again another day. Games add variety: Keyfall exercises finding keys, Wordfall is a spelling puzzle, and the Typewriter offers creative writing. They measure different things.

The $19.99 USD lifetime license includes the Windows app for up to three active PCs and paid web features when linked to your account. Offline practice does not become verified online history.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you begin.

Is this a free unlimited typing test?

The website offers three free plays of the Typing Test and one free competition attempt. Paid access is linked to a lifetime license. The score calculator on this page is a separate explanatory tool.

Do I compete live against my friend?

No. Shared challenges are asynchronous. Both people use the same passage and duration, then compare the leaderboard.

What should I focus on to type faster?

Start with accurate repetitions and consistent test conditions. Review repeated mistakes and compare several sessions; Keymere does not promise a particular speed increase.
