Setup & sound guide

A few steps. Then tap.

Your Windows app and the browser playground share a style. The desktop app adds sounds and visual feedback across your computer.

On Windows

  1. Click Buy Keymere lifetime license to open Dodo checkout, or choose Gumroad.
  2. Your Dodo purchase includes two entitlements: the lifetime license key for up to 3 PCs and the Windows MSI download. Find both in your purchase delivery. Gumroad buyers receive their license key and attached MSI in their Gumroad library.
  3. Download the installer from your purchase. Already have your key? Download Keymere 0.12.2 for Windows x64 (MSI).
  4. Run the MSI and open Keymere. Choose your purchase provider, paste your key and activate online. One key supports up to three PCs. Deactivate an old PC in Settings to free a slot.
  5. Choose typing, mouse-click and wheel sounds independently. The first included sound in each category is selected on a fresh profile once recordings are shipped.
  6. Try typing in another app. Adjust volume or pause playback from Keymere or its tray menu. Ctrl + Alt + M toggles sound.
  7. Enable the floating visualizer in Settings, then choose placement and opacity.

Launch at login and close-to-tray are optional settings. The × button in Keymere quits the app.

Add your own recordings

Open Add sounds, name your pack, and choose files or a folder. You can use a long source recording: Keymere detects the first audible onset and keeps at most one second, with a short fade at the crop boundary. It does not split every tap in a long recording into separate samples. Keep one intended tap at the beginning of each clip for the best result.

  • down.wav — general keyboard press.
  • up.wav — optional keyboard release.
  • Space-down.wav or Enter-down.wav — a special key.
  • MouseLeft-down.wav, MouseRight-down.wav, MouseMiddle-down.wav — mouse buttons.
  • Wheel.wav — mouse wheel, both directions. WheelUp.wav and WheelDown.wav override a direction.
  • down-01.wav, down-02.wav — sample variations.

Review assignments after import. Missing release samples stay silent. The separate included mouse selection takes precedence over mouse samples inside a typing pack; choose “Use typing pack” in the sound library to use those imported mouse samples.

Website game trials

Each browser has three free plays of each of the four games. A play is one timed typing test, one Keyfall round, one five-word Wordfall session, or three minutes in the Typewriter. Plays are saved in local browser storage and reloads end the current play. After the third play, purchase a Keymere license and use the Windows app to continue. Draft text can still be exported after a Typewriter trial ends. This limit is browser-local, not an account-based identity check.

Where everything lives

The website and Windows app keep separate local storage. Import your packs in each place where you want to use them. Website game trial counts also use local storage. Preferences persist on that device; they are not synced to an account. Keep original recordings and exported drafts as backups.

Four places to play

Open Games in the top capsule for the typing test, Keyfall, Typewriter and Wordfall. The Typewriter uses its own dedicated recordings and has local draft and export controls. Switching back to Keyboard pauses active games.
